QUESTION of the week -Which person in a leadership position do you admire most?

August 9, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Stevie Jackson: A leader within my online business, Karina Low. She went from being a single mum facing financial challenges to now an extremely successful business woman who inspires other woman to create financial freedom within their lives.

Barry Yetman: Deputy Prime Minister, Michael McCormack. It seems as if he might be able to steer the ship in the right direction.

Tracey Mowbray: Nelson Mandela. I like to think that we are all born equally.

QUESTION of the week -Which part of your school holiday did you enjoy most?

August 2, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Andie Hodder: I travelled to Sydney to compete in State Age Netball. It was a huge event and I got so much netball experience. It was awesome!

Melandri and Marno van Coller: We went on a ski holiday to Falls Creek in Victoria! It was lots of fun.

Alex Drewes: My family and I had some of our relatives over that we haven’t seen in a while. We visited the famous Dish in Parkes and showed off Forbes… a town we are proud to call home.

Question of the week – What support do you think can be given to farmers affected by the drought?

July 26, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Simon Rosa: I’d like to see more government and community support.

Kathie Westcott: We need to be supportive of each other. One needs to realise that what affects the farmers also affects the town – the struggle is on both sides.

Kristi Rosa: There should be just as much emotional support as financial assistance from government.

Question of the week -What was the last good movie you watched?

July 19, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Toby Jarick: Star Wars. I liked it because I’m a big Star Wars fan.

Codie Smith: The Heat. I like a bit of comedy.

Lisa Jarick: Hacksaw Ridge. It’s a war film based on a true story and I found it very inspiring.

Question of the week -Do you think the plastic bag ban will help reduce pollution?

July 12, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Maureen Field: It will definitely help decrease pollution and I’m all for it!

Robyn Mattiske: I think it will lessen pollution, especially around the cities where it’s a big issue with plastic getting in the waterways and harming marine life.

Anne Hodges: I agree that the plastic bag should go and the biodegradable bags are great.

Question of the week -What is your favourite shop in Forbes?

July 5, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Gabrielle Boland: My favourite shop is Woolies because they always have fresh food and great service.

Kerry May: Spotlight. I love shopping there!

Bec Howarth: Cafe Aglio & Olio. They have good coffee and food and also great service.

Question of the week -How many years have you been to the Forbes Eisteddfod and why do you like supporting it?

June 28, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Nikki Patten: We’ve been coming for about 10 years, watching nieces, nephews and children perform. It’s a fantastic local event held right here in Forbes and has a high standard.

Gail Smith: I’ve been involved with this eisteddfod for probably 15 years. I’ve supported it because I like avenues for children to be able to get up and perform and there aren’t many opportunities for them to do that. There are also lifelong friendships formed.

Megan Hodge: This is our first time to the Forbes Eisteddfod. We were very excited to be invited and have taken the opportunity to participate.

What is your favourite movie quote?

Kristen Barrass: “We must all face the choice between what is right and what is easy.” Albus Dumbledore.

Nev Molloy: I like Arnie’s (Arnold Schwarzenegger) “I’ll be back” catchphrase.

Shannen Toole: “Don’t ever let somebody tell you, you can’t do something. Your dream, you’ve got to protect it.” By Chris Gardner from The Pursuit of Happiness film

Helen Field: Curling up beside the fire while watching movies.

If you could only eat two foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?

May 24, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Robyn Sydney (canteen extraordinaire): Chocolate and sour cream. Chocolate because it goes with everything and sour cream because it also goes with almost everything!

Ella White: Pasta bolognaise because it is my favourite food and sausages because I love them and they are really yummy.

Reggie Murray: A bowl of Coco Chex cereal because I eat cereal every day and chicken carbonara which I also eat nearly every day. They are delicious!
