Why is Anzac Day so significant to you?

Kerry Walker: To show respect to family members and other people who have and still are serving in the war.

 

Valerie Ball: To commemorate the sacrifice made by those for our freedom and liberty.

Wilma Hepburn: To honour the soldiers that died in all the wars and to remember them and all the suffering they endured.

 

What have you been doing these school holidays?

Chiara Calvani: We’ve been to Sydney and did some shopping. We have also been spending time with family and friends.

Alessia Calvani: We went camping and did some fishing, went out on the boat and had camp fires.

Billy and Mia Buser: We went motorbike riding, saw Dumbo at the movies, went to the Western Plains Zoo, did some wood chopping, camping, swimming, and fishing and went to Canberra.

 

When you’re having a bad day, what do you do to make yourself feel better?

Jacinta Morton (right): To make myself feel better I might do a bit of shopping or book myself in for some pampering at the beautician.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Craig Dwyer: I ring my partner, Sarelle and she brings coffee, so coffee definitely makes me feel better. Unless it’s on the weekend, then it might not be coffee!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Terry Sharpe: I’d probably go home and complain to my wife and then have a few beers.

How long have you lived in Forbes and what do you like about living here? I have lived in Forbes all my life. It’s where I feel connected and we have great fishing.

Where do you work and what do you enjoy about your work? I have just finished Year 12 at Forbes High School. I really enjoyed completing my major work, which was a bed.

What do you do to unwind after work or on weekends? I enjoy time with friends and family. I love fishing and can often be found at the river.

What are you really good at? Being a big brother and spending time with my family. Also being a friend to all my mates.

If you could have a super power, what would it be? The ability to pause time.

What is your pet hate? I hate losing a fish when out fishing.

Tell us about your best holiday ever. I have extended family in Townsville and love being able to go visit them and all the activities that we are able to do whilst there.

Christine Johansson: My auntie was a victim of domestic violence and was one of the lucky survivors. She’s a big inspiration to me.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Kellie Trainor: My mum was a victim of domestic violence and was murdered in the end because she couldn’t escape.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ellysa Cunningham (CatholicCare’s specialist homelessness service): To promote awareness of ending domestic violence. There are many homeless women and children because of trying to escape domestic violence.

 

What do you like about going to a market day?
