Our Lil’ Guy – Jamal Alghamdi

December 4, 2020 by Maggi Barnard

What school do you go to and what do you like most about it? I go to Forbes Public School and I like it because I get to play with my friends.

What is your favourite subject at school and why? I like art because I’m really good at drawing and like free drawing.

What makes you laugh the most? Van and Max.

What is your dream job? To work at Google because they’ve got a slippery dip and you can have unlimited sushi for free while working at a computer.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? To control time and physics.

What is something you are really good at? Drawing, definitely.

What is your pet hate? Global warming and the next mass extinction.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live and why? When there is no COVID, I would probably go to Canada for a year to see the snow, then live near the Great Barrier Reef.

How long have you lived in or around Forbes and what do you like about living here? I’ve lived around here for my whole life. I like the easy lifestyle, the Lake in Forbes is beautiful and what the Council has done with it is great.

What was your first job? I worked at Sullivan’s IGA, Forbes.

What makes you laugh the most? Inappropriate funny jokes.

If money were no object, what would you do with your time? Just travel around Australia.

Describe your dream holiday? I reckon the top end of Australia, but just being on holidays anywhere is good.

What is a favourite childhood memory of yours? I think life was just simpler when I was a kid, we didn’t have to have all of the gadgets. I think Christmas had more meaning and was more memorable when I was young.

If you could live in any time or place, where and when would that be? I’d go back to the 90’s but I’m pretty happy where I am now. I also think Canada would be a nice place to live.

If you could share a meal with any three people, past or present, who would they be? Chris Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? Preventing prejudice.

What is your pet hate? People commenting negatively on Facebook.

How long have you lived in or around Forbes and what do you like about living here? I have lived here for six months and I like the town, the lake, the people, and the mood of Forbes. It’s nice to live here.

What was your first job? I was a concrete worker.

What makes you laugh the most? Funny videos, animal videos, memes, and stupid people.

If money were no object, what would you do with your time? That is a hard question, maybe I’d travel around the world, but I like working so I’d start my own business.

Describe your dream holiday? A party holiday, hanging with friends in a big villa with an infinity pool, and good food in the United States.

What is a favourite childhood memory of yours? Christmas, a German white winter.

If you could live in any time or place, where and when would that be? I’d like to live in the Wild West in North America in the 1800’s.

If you could share a meal with any three people, past or present, who would they be? My grandpa, my father, and my mother.

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? To be the best soccer player.

What is your pet hate? Liars.

Where are you visiting from and what is your favourite thing about Forbes?

November 13, 2020 by Maggi Barnard

Andy McNaughton: The Lake is my favourite thing in Forbes, I’m from Port Stephens.

Carol McNaughton: The Lake here is just beautiful, and we are so lucky to be able to camp right by it.

Ross Hendry: Well, I’m originally from Parkes and Coffs Harbour, but I have been on the road for 13 years. What I love about Forbes is the scenery and that it is RV friendly with plenty of areas to camp for free.
