How long have you lived in or around Forbes for? I actually live in Grenfell, and have only lived there for about two weeks. I have moved inland from East Gosford on the Central Coast.

What do you enjoy about living in the Central West? I enjoy the affordable living, charming town atmosphere, the historic buildings and the countryside. There’s a nice feeling about the place.

What do you do for work? I’m doing a maternity relief contract as tourism development officer at Forbes Shire Council.

Where would your dream holiday be? I love Hong Kong. The food and sights are amazing. However, there are so many places in the world that could be a dream holiday.
What do you do in your spare time?
I will be spending my spare time getting settled into my new place.

Question of the Week?

March 10, 2016 by Maggi Barnard

What are your plans for Easter?

_DSC0354

Verdel Maclean – I haven’t even thought about Easter yet! I’ve been way too busy!

Michele Morley

Michele Morley – I am looking forward to having all of my family home, my two boys will be home from Uni and we will probably go fishing and do some quiet activities around the home.

Question of the Week

March 3, 2016 by Maggi Barnard

How did you spend February 29, which only happens every four years?

_DSC0263

Nathan Murphy- I just spent it at work, and after work I played a basketball match.

_DSC0268

Fiona Hayward- I spent February 29 opening my new store Eyewear Specs.

_DSC0269

Jenny Cutler- I spent it working, giving blood, and mourning the end of summer.

How long have you lived in or around Forbes?
I’ve lived in Forbes now for three years, and I’m enjoying it more and more each and every day.

What do you do for work?
I work as a multimedia specialist. I write scripts, and work ads, logos and websites. I also do graphic design and PR. I also help with Start Fast Productions.

What do you enjoy about living in Forbes?
I love the freedom about living in Forbes.

What would your dream holiday be?
I would love to go to a ‘Carnivale’ in Brazil. Holidays there are cheap, the people are passionate, and it would be a great, fun, carefree party atmosphere.

Question of the Week

February 29, 2016 by Maggi Barnard

How are you planning to spend the last two weeks of Summer?

Judy Prior

Judy Prior – I am heading to Fiji so I will be getting my bags packed and preparing for my holiday.

Joy Russell

Joy Russell – My son is getting married at the end of February so I am getting ready for the wedding and looking forward to catching up with the family

Allison Hearn

Allison Hearn – Just trying to keep cool, plan my next overseas trip and make sure my travelling buddy doesn’t break her leg again and we have to cancel the holiday.

How long have you lived in or around Forbes? I have lived here all of my life except for a couple of years when I was a teenager. I lived in Melbourne then.

Where do you work? I work at Roylance’s Auto One in Forbes.

What do you love most about working at Auto One? We have a really good team environment here, and all the staff get along really well. The customers are friendly, and we get a lot of travellers coming through as well. You get to learn about them and their travels.

How do you start your day? I get up early, go for a walk, then make myself a cuppa, and get the kids ready for school.

What do you do in your spare time? Justin and I race jet boats on Lake Forbes, and we really enjoy doing that. Otherwise I like spending time with the kids and going camping.

How do you like your coffee? I like it white with one sugar, and double shot if it’s a cappuccino.

What makes your day? I love seeing my kids happy and listening to their stories.

House For Sale

Roylance House Ad_190216

Are you looking for a home with nothing to be done? Do you need space for the kids of all ages?

This is the home for you. It is the perfect family home, to suit all ages. It is set on three and a half acres, perfectly positioned to enjoy rural living but only minutes from town. It is an entertainers dream with 3 entertaining areas and salt water in ground pool, to cool down in the hot summer.

There are five well sized bedrooms, four with built ins and ensuite to main. The fifth bedroom could be made into an office or teens retreat with own entrance. The large main bathroom boasts a corner spa to enjoy after a long day at work.

Large well designed kitchen and main living area. The kitchen boasts a double wall oven and a large area to cook up a feast. Heating and cooling is not an issue in the home. Winter is covered with Under Slab floor heating, reverse cycle air conditioning and a large wood fire in the main living area.

In summer you will be kept comfortable with reverse cycle ducted air conditioning. The kids will be sorted with their own lounge/rumpus room and a cubby house in the large back yard which is secure and fenced off.

With the inside taken care of, the outside also has lots to offer. There is a two car garage with internal access at the front of the home. Around the back is every man’s dream- a six car garage with workshop space, and three phase power- perfect to make a man’s cave!

The outside has had the hard work done for you, with established trees and gardens that are self-maintained, with the trees on dripper systems. The house sits on two acres and one and a half acres out the back is fenced off to run a few cattle or sheep.

With a 5kw solar system connected to house, power bills won’t be a headache.
NBN Wireless has been installed and the property utilises a Bio Septic System.
This property has everything you could want for and nothing to be done, except move in and make yourself a home.
