It was a huge win for 1st grade in a top of the table clash against Bathurst Bulldogs 28-26.

Parkes PCYC sent 3 teams to Sydney last week to compete in the Nations of Origin Tournament. Ollie, Kate and Andy Thomas prepared one of the footy teams.

Parkes PCYC Club Manager Kimberlet Sherrett helped the kids raise over $20,000 to be able to participate. Torin Hando and Jordan McDougall prepared the other team.

This was the first Nations of Origin Tournament that Parkes PCYC have competed in, so it was seen as an historic moment. Sam Clark prepared the gym girls.

Thank you to each of the willing volunteers who participated in the Bogong Moth Workshop.

Participants learnt of the environmental challenges faced by the Bogong moths, and the pygmy possums that rely on them as a food source.

Danielle’s first senior Hattah race was a tough one, but after 5 long hours on the bike she managed to go P2 in class and 76th outright of 432 riders.

First ever senior Hattah prologue done. P1 in women’s, P63 outright. This is one of Danielle’s favourite races of the year.

Tough day for round 2 of @auspromx in Murray Bridge. A few bad starts put Danielle back but she was still happy to go 4-4 for a P4 OA.

Talented Year 10 PHS students have been hard at work in Food Technology, showcasing their incredible creativity and baking skills.

From intricate designs to vibrant colours, these cakes are true masterpieces!

GARDEN PROJECT: The project was launched by Bunnings, who generously provided the plants for this initiative. The aim was to mark Diversity Day by creating a garden at the Wellness Hub, improving the overall appearance of the Hub for the benefit of all students.

NSW YOUTH HEALTH CONSULTATION FORUM: In Week 9 four Year 11 students had the opportunity to take part in the NSW Youth Health Consultation Forum where they video called with a number of rural locations and the metro site at Westmead to have input in the 2025-2032 NSW Health Strategy.

OXLEY CWA PUBLIC SPEAKING: Recently Abbey and Methmi participated in the second round of the Oxley CWA Public Speaking competition in Trundle. Both students delivered impressive speeches, with Abbey earning a Highly Commended recognition.

Ben participates in Ambassador work through GOAL College working with year 11 and 12 students.

Ben was part of the NRL Roads to Regions tour visiting schools in Port Macquarie and Forster.

Frost & Fire 2024 is a wrap and what a fantastic time was had by all who attended.

Family, friends, food, fun and entertainment, are what makes Frost & Fire a must attend event.
