Garage Sale trail is on this weekend. Registration is free and ensures your garage sale is listed on the interactive online map. The event is being held across two weekends this month, on 7-8 and 14-15 November. Whether you’re a household, school, community group or local business, now is the time to sign up and start planning your sale. Register ahead of the event, start sorting through those unwanted items and get ready to turn your clutter into cash. Head to our website to register and find out more.
After months of anticipation, the Apex and Lions Park redevelopment is complete and ready to be enjoyed by the community. Both parks have brand new play equipment, rubber soft fall, inclusive play options, new pathways, seating and landscaping, a new amenities block, new barbeque shelter, improved drainage and car park facilities. They have been designed to give local families more opportunities to get outdoors, stay active and spend time together. To celebrate, we’re inviting everyone to join us on Sunday 15 November from 11am until 2pm for a big day of free, family- friendly fun. There’ll be a jumping castle, activities for the kids and a free BBQ lunch, making it the perfect opportunity to check out the new facilities. To help us cater, head to our website to register for a free ticket.
Council is seeking community feedback on two important projects that will help shape the future of Forbes. The Forbes Library Community Survey is now open, and we’re inviting residents to share what they value most about the library, along with ideas for improving collections, programs, spaces and services. We’re also seeking feedback on the draft masterplans for the Grinsted and South Circle Sporting Fields.
These plans will guide the long-term development of the sporting precincts, helping ensure they continue to meet the needs of current and future users. Community feedback plays a vital role in helping Council make informed decisions and ensuring our facilities and services reflect local needs and aspirations. I encourage everyone to visit Council’s website, learn more about these projects and take a few minutes to have their say. Every piece of feedback helps shape the future of our community.
God Bless,
Mayor Phyllis Miller OAM
