We had 24 brave players for Aussie Croquet on a very misty, windy morning on Saturday 8th April. Thank goodness the morning improved. We had a family affair, Robin Pols turned up with her daughter Catrina and granddaughter Olivia.

Four players won three games, John Browne, Kevin Rubie, Barry White and Tony Thomson. The big winners were:

14 – 8 May Jones and Kevin Rubie, TonyThomson and Barry White.

14 – 9 Joan Littlejohn and Tony Thomson

A chilly morning on Tuesday 11th saw 30players for Golf Croquet. There were threewinnes of three games, Fay Picker, KevinRubie and Rex Toole.The big winners were:

9 – 4 Elvy Quirk and Bruce Field, Neville Spry and Rex Toole, Kevin Rubieand Sandy Hepburn, Lyn Simmonds andJohn Cole, John Farah and Rex Toole,John Browne and Kevin Rubie, John Farah and Fay Picker.

Anzac Day is almost upon us and of course that will be a holiday for all our croquet players as we pause to remember those who served our beautiful country with survivors but many lost lives. Meanwhile stay well, stay safe and be kind to each other.

One of the more senior coquet players, Robin Pols hosted the Garden Club meeting this week. Robin is pictured with a beautiful flower from her Wheel tree.

There was beautiful rain this week, hopefully it keeps coming. It was a welcome reprieve for our boys from the watering, our croquet lawns look almost picture perfect.

There were 32 players for Aussie Croquet on Saturday, 25th March. Five players managed to win three games, John Browne, John Farah, Lyn Simmonds and Fay Picker.

Big winers on the day were: 14 – 8 John Farah and John Job, Neville Spry and Alex Todd; 14 – 9 John Browne and Carolyn Neilsen, John Farah and John Job, Kevin Rubie and Lorraine Todd. 

There were 28 players on Tuesday, 28th turn up keen to start. Then the rain came, so it ended up being the winner.

There were 30 players for Aussie Croquet on Saturday, 18th March. Four players won three games: Noel Jolliffe, John Cole, Kevin Rubie and Peter West.

The big winners on the day were 14 – 8 John Browne, 14 – 9 John Cole and Ros Rennick, 14 – 10 Elvy Quirk and John Cole, Noel Jolliffe.

There were 36 players for Golf Croquet on Tuesday, 21st March.Two players managed to win three games: John Cole and Noel Jolliffe. The big winners were 10 – 3 Elvy Quirk and John Browne, Sue and Noel Jolliffe, 9 -4 John Farah and Vince Roberts, John Farah and Allan Jones.

We were happy to have had 31 players come along and enjoy Aussie Croquet on a very pleasant early autumn morning. There were five players who were able to win three games, Bill Scott, Elvy Quirk, Kevin Rubie, Neville Spry and Tony Thomson.

Forbes Croquet Club members, Mervyn and Ula Langfield celebrated 70 years of married bliss on Tuesday, 21st February 2023.

At Aussie Corquet on Saturday morning, 32 players started playing at 8:30am to get finished before the heat set in. There were five players who won five games: Noel Jolliffe, Jeff Liebich, Harley Stewart, John Browne, and Barry White. 

Big winners on the day were: Alex Todd and Tony Thompson 14 Bruce Field and Lyn Simmonds 9. Haley Stewart and John Allegri 14 Robin Pols and Lorraine Todd 9. Barry White & Noel Jolliffe 14 May and Allan Jones 9.

What a great time was had by all when we had 33 players come along to enjoy our Aussie Croquet on a nice chilly morning on Saturday, 4th February. 

There were only two players who managed three games, John Browne and Kevin Rubie. Big winners on the day were 14 – 9 Kevin Rubie and Tony Thomson, Jeff Liebich and Allan Jones, 14 – 10 John Browne and Doreen Rogers, Robin Pols and Noel Jolliffe, John Allegri and Allan Jones, Harley Stewart and Ray Burridge, Peter West and Robin Pols, Kevin Rubie and John Cole, Colleen Liebich and Neville Spry, Marie Spry and Bill Scott, Elvy Quirk and Cheryl Toohey. 

Another fun filled day of competition was had by all on Tuesday, 7th February where we had 32 players for Golf Croquet. It was also part of Seniors week activities. We would like to send a massive thank you to the Forbes Shire Council for their part in supplying us a very good spread for morning tea, two plates of mixed sandwiches, a variety of slices and plate of different fruits, all went down very well, so again a very big thank you. 

There were four players that managed three games John Cole, Kevin Rubie, Neville Spry and another new player, only had a hand full of games Ray Martin – well done. 

Big winners were 10 – 3 John Cole and Rex Toole, 9 – 4 Neville Spry and Bruce Field, Dorelle Scott and John Browne, Kevin Rubie and Ray Burridge, Marie Spry and Evelyn Mahlo , Kevin Rubie and Mal Smith. 

After the game we had our monthly luncheon at the Forbes Golf Club Restaurant, where a delicious, well cooked meal was served. What a great way to enjoy the Seniors Festival week.

A nice light breeze was enjoyed by 32 players at Aussie Croquet on Saturday, 28th January. There were three winners of three games including Colleen Liebich, Merv Langfield and Sandy Hepburn. The big winners on the day were 14-8 John Job and Ray Burridge, Colleen Liebich and Bill Scott and 14 – 9 John Cole and Merv Langfield. 

Another great day on Tuesday, 31st January saw 32 players ready to get started.Six players managed to win three games. They were Geoff Coles, Sandy Hepburn, Noel Jolliffe, Kevin Rubie, Bill Scott and another new player Neil Gilmour. The big winners on the day were 1 – 2 Sandy Hepbun and Tony Thomson, 9 – 4 Bruce Field and Peter West, John Job and Mal Smith, Allan Jones and Neil Gilmour.
