We had 36 players attend Golf Croquet, we managed to play 3 games with the odd shower on Tuesday the 28th.

It is getting more like Spring by the day, with the warmer start to the morning for Aussie Croquet ,when we had 29 players. We were lucky enough to have 2 visitors from Sydney, Grand Daughter of Tony Thomson, India and partner Alex Nichol. 

We only had 2 players to win 3 games, John Farah, Allan and Fay Picker. 

BIG WINNER 

14—-8 Bruce Field and John Farah. 

We had a very busy morning on Tuesday 7 th (Melbourne Cup Day) on another nice Spring morning , we had 33 players come along. We started off by selling 5 Cup Sweeps, then sang happy birthday to Bruce Field, who had his 96th birthday, then he went on and won 3 games, never too young. 

There were 4 players that managed to win 3 games: John Farah, Sue Jolliffe May Jones and Bruce Field. 

BIG WINNERS

It was a nice morning for those who came along to Aussie Croquet on Saturday the 28th, where we had 32 players ready to play. There were 6 players who managed to win 3 games, John Farah Noel Jollife, May Jones, Kevin Rubie, Bill Scott and Rex Toole.

Ray Burridge celebrated his 80th birthday at croquet.

On Saturday 14th October, 26 players enjoyed a beautiful sunny morning on the courts. Two players won three games: Kevin Rubie and Allan Jones. The big winners were: B White and R Renich 14-7, T Thomson and N Jolliffe 14- 8, G Coles (2 Balls) 14-8. There were lots of great shots playedin this section.

Ray Burridge had great delight in cutting his 80th Birthday Cake and receiving his O.B.E, certificate from Elvy. There was also some very sad news, that one of our longest serving members had passed away. Doreen Rodgers always had a smile for everyone. The players all wore black ArmBands and a Minutes Silence was held in respect for Doreen.

It was another nice spring morning for Golf Croquet on Tuesday 10th October. We were able to sing Happy Birthday to Joan Littlejohn who will be 93 this week. Record Numbers At Croquet

Jane Gilmour celebrates 80 plus 1, happy birthday Jane for 8th September. Kevin and Colleen Gunn of the Vandenberg Hotel Forbes are proud sponsors of the Forbes Croquet Club.

There were 30 players rearing to go at Aussie Croquet on Saturday 23rd September. We again had another visitor, Terry Rubie. There were four players who managed to win three games, Colleen Liebich, Elvy Quirk, Cheryle Toohey and John Cole. The big winners on the day were 14—9 Joan Littlejohn and John Browne, Cheryle Toohey and May Jones. The mid winners were 14—10 John Farah and Sandy Hepburn, Elvy Quirk and John Cole, Rex Toole and Tony Thomson, Elvy Quirk and May Jones, Kevin and Terry Rubie, Jill Rubie and Fay Picker, Noel Jolliffe, John Cole and Colleen Liebich.

Golf Croquet on Tuesday 26th saw a record number of 41 players attend. We welcome new player, David Williams and our two visitors from Yamba Malcolm and Rosemary Every. Colleen Gunn from the Vanderurg Hotel, who sponsors us, was there to present a new sign to be displayed in the club house. Thank you to Kevin and Colleen for their generous support.

There was only two players who managed to win three games, Geoff Coles and Allan Jones. The big winners on the day were 11—2 Robin Pols and Phillip Moran, Elvy Quirk and Bruce Field. 10—3 Robin Pols an Lorraine Todd, Marie Spry and John Browne. The mid winners on the day were 9—4 Noel Jolliffe and Tony Thomson, Lyal Strudwick and Fay Picker, Kevin Rubie and John Job.

Forbes Croqut Club have six playing courts at Halpins Flat. We play Golf Croquet every Tuesday, you are asked to arrive no later than 8:50am for the draw. Aussie Croquet Saturday does have more tactical play, but it is not difficult to learn. The cost to learn is $2.00 for six games, then you might like to become a member which costs only $10 p.a. and $5 per day.
