Ray Sets Record With Another Three Game Day

May 7, 2021 by Maggi Barnard

HAMMER SHOT: Participants enjoyed Aussie Croquet last Saturday May 1 with some 21 players turning out.

Aussie Croquet on 1 May saw a small number of 21 players as some were involved in the Heritage weekend, some on the sick list and others holidaying.

There were only three winners of all three games namely Ray Burridge, Bob Murray & Kevin Rubie. Congratulations to all three players. In the recent scores I notice that Ray Burridge has won all three games in Aussie Croquet for the last seven weeks. Congratulations Ray, I am sure that this is indeed a record.

Close games: Jill Rubie and John Mac-Cullagh 14 def Bill Scott and Helen McQuie 13, Cheryl Toohey and Merv Langfield 14 def Jeff Liebich and John MacCullagh 12, Colleen Liebich 14 def Jeff Liebich 12 and Elvy Quirk and Cheryl Toohey 14 def Marie Spry and Colleen Liebich 12.

Our new shade area is certainly going to be a popular spot as was seen on Saturday on a very warm morning. Once again many thanks to the small number of members who volunteer – it is very much appreciated.
