Lots To Be Positive About For Mount Hope

April 23, 2021 by Maggi Barnard

HOPEFUL OF A BIG 2021: Mount Hope leads home Ritza Flame in an emphatic win at Bathurst last week making it two in a row and three at Bathurst.

Local greyhound owner/ trainer Errol Hughes could be forgiven for thinking there’s something in the water in Bathurst and not relocating after in-form grey Mount Hope blitzed the field to take out the GRNSW Fifth Grade Series Final last week over 520m.

Mount Hope’s win in the GRNSW 5th Grade Series Final in Bathurst made it two wins on the bounce for the Errol Hughes trained star who started the race as a near $2.30 favourite.

Springing from the one box, Mount Hope jumped to an early lead and was never threatened as it reminded it’s opposition why it is one of the dogs to watch in 2021 on the regional coursing circuit.

Mount Hope won comfortably by two lengths from Ritza Flame with Sandy Grant well back in third a further four or so lengths.

It was the dogs third win on the tricky Ba-thurst track that has been the thorn in the side of far greater sprinters yet Mount Hope scooted home in a sharp time of 30.02 and takes its overall record to 32:6-9-4.
