Temora The Friendly Town

March 22, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Rich in heritage, Temora is in the beautiful Riverina region and known as the friendliest town in NSW. Aviation is a big draw card and the Temora Aviation Museum is home to one of the world’s finest collections of flying vintage warplanes, including the only two flying Spitfires in Australia.

Temora is filled with culture, activities, treats and delights. Immerse yourself in all Temora has to see and do, whether you are looking to step back in time at either of the world class museums or getting a taste of the state-of-the-art Temora Town Hall Theatre.

Admiring the heritage buildings, from colonial to art deco, is one of the many things to do and see in this charming town and nearby villages.

EASTER WEEKEND AIRCRAFT SHOWCASE

The Temora Aviation Museum’s Easter Weekend 2018 Aircraft Showcase is a spectacular two day event scheduled for 31st March and 1st April.

The event will feature all serviceable aircraft from the Temora Aviation Museum’s collection, which includes the Supermarine Spitfires Mk VIII and Mk XVI, CA-13 Boomerang, Gloster Meteor, Lockheed Hudson, Cessna 0-2A, Wirraway, Tiger Moth and Ryan STM S2.

At Temora you can get closer to the action as you witness a themed selection of Australia’s ex-military flying history come alive. The two day Easter weekend Aircraft Showcase promises to deliver a full day of entertainment for all generations.

Flying displays demonstrating the aircraft’s capabilities, informative commentary and music, guided tour of static exhibitions, interviews with pilots and veterans, children’s activities and playground, engineering workshop tour and pilot meet and greet is some of the entertainment the event has to offer.

The Mess Hall will be serving freshly cooked food and a selection of cold refreshments. Barista coffee is also available. Bring your own picnic to enjoy in the shaded seating or grassed areas.

For further information or to purchase tickets visit the Events Calendar on www. aviationmuseum.com.au or contact (02) 6977 1088.
