Success In Canassist Charity Golf Day

Can-Assist 2025 Runners Up: ‘John Shrader congratulates the 2025 Runners-up team comprising James Grierson, Grant Tanter, Archie Quirk and Sam Sykes’.

Last Saturday Forbes golfers played in the Annual CanAssist Charity Golf Day with each player aiming to do well for both their team and for the Charity, the golfers raised nearly $3,000.

The format for the event was a 4-Person Medley Ambrose with a Shot Gun start. The field of 102 players revelled in the good condition of the course and the greens with only three teams scoring over par.

The Handicap winning team with a nett 54.5 was Alistar Carlisle, John Darcy, JadePage and Ryan Dunn. They had six birdies and two bogeys for a scratch 68 which washelped by their generous handicap.

The Handicap runners-up were Grant Tanter, Sam Sykes, Archie Quirk and James Grierson with a nett 55.5 off a 5.5 handicap.

They had 11 birdies and no bogeys.

Other team prizes went to 3rd (55.75) P Dawson, T Callaghan, N Death and A Hearn, 4th (56.12) C Alley, P Pymont, M Bayley, L Frase and 5th – (56.75) J Cutler, G Hooper, D Cutler and J Wooldridge.

The best scratch score was a 58 shot by the team of Caleb Hanrahan, Lee Grierson,Seb Tind Simmons and Seb Minehan. They managed seven birdies on each half.

The NTP’s went to: Ladies 1st Nil, 3rd J Fletcher, 9th J Fletcher 18th S Grierson; Men 1st D Burton, 3rd P Dawson, 9th D Burton, 18th D Mylecharane. The ‘12th hole 2nd shot’ went to: Ladies S Grierson; Men D Kennedy. The 3rd hole Super Pin went to Peter Dawson with a shot to 110cm.

This weekend 14 June we have the June Monthly Medal for the Men and the 4BBB Championships for the Ladies. On Sunday there is a Stableford Medley while the menplay the LVDGA Championships at Trundle.
