Musical Entertainment: James Whelan from the Forbes Mitchell Conservatorium of Music gave an entertaining performance to morning tea clients of Neighborhood Central last week. James captivated the audience with stories and singing wellknown Broadway musical hits. It was the last morning tea of 2016, however, the Christmas Luncheon is on 13th December. A variety of quality performers and guest presenters entertained clients during the
year. They were from the Forbes Historical Museum, Splash Art Gallery, Human Services, Fair Trading, NSW Health, Matthew Williams Solicitors, while the entertainers included Trevor Wren and Ruth Elphick. A huge thank you to the volunteers: Doreen Rogers, Ruth Elphick, Gillian Davies and Lorraine Rue. Thank you to the Forbes
Council for the use of the Town Hall. If you would like to join the morning tea in 2017, call Monica on 6851 4550.

Community March: The Forbes White Ribbon Day March takes place today from Cross Street starting at 10:30am. It is a community march, led by Forbes High School, in support of White Ribbon Day to raise awareness of and to help end violence against women. Special guests Nova Peris and Peter Gibbs will be speaking at the event. Free sausage sizzle. Contact Michelle Kable on 6850 1234.

Support Salvos at Bunnings: Forbes residents can help spread Christmas joy by supporting the local Salvation Army branch at Bunnings during November and December. About 100,000 Australians are expected to turn to The Salvos for help this Christmas. Money raised will help to give meals, food hampers and gifts to Australians doing it tough.

Lost wallet: An elderly gentleman, 90-year-old Harry Coggan, had his wallet taken from the Bowling Club recently. It has many sentimental items in it. He would love the sentimental items back. If anyone has it or finds it, please leave it at the Bowling Club, Rural Fire Service in Union Street or the Forbes High School.

Christmas cheer extended: Christmas festivities will kick off in Forbes tomorrow with the Christmas Festival (see page 6 for more details). The Christmas cheer will continue next weekend with the grand opening of the Community Christmas Tree Festival at the Forbes Town Hall next Friday at 5pm, followed by Carols by Candlelight
on Sunday, 4th December at 7pm in Victoria Park.

Best Dressed Christmas Window: Get the tinsel out and start decorating for the festive season! The Forbes Phoenix is running a competition for the Best Dressed Christmas window or biggest in-house display in Forbes. The competition starts on 1st December with judging taking place on Wednesday, 21st December. You simply have to send a photo of your store with address details to sales@forbesphoenix.com.au. You can win one night’s accommodation at a four star hotel for two people with breakfast, champagne and chocolates on arrival.
