Parkes Shire Council: Spring is the breeding season for magpies, and while most will happily go about their business, some can become protective of their nesting area while raising their young. Swooping is temporary and usually stops once the young have left the nest. The best thing we can do is give our feathered neighbours some space while they raise their young. If you find native wildlife injured or distressed, contact WIRES on 1300 094 737.
