Army Band rocks Forbes: As well as a marching band, Australian Army Band Kapooka (AAB-K) breaks down into a stage band, rock band, jazz ensemble as well as brass and saxophone groups and acoustic versions of the rock band. This versatility means most genres of music can be performed and the band can cater for all musical tastes. The band will be performing in Forbes on Monday May 7 from 7pm at Town Hall.

Free cuppa for the driver continues:
Following the launch of the Free Cuppa for the Driver scheme in Parkes on 8 March by Parkes Mayor Ken Keith, the campaign is off to a busy start. Sixty participating businesses have teamed up with Roads and Maritime Services and 18 local councils to promote fatigue awareness on most roads, and have already served hundreds of free cuppas to drivers. The initiative has been extended to May 31.
Forbes and District Historical Society:
We will be holding our open day on Saturday April 30 from 12pm to 4pm. Visitors will be able to see our Ben Hall and ANZAC displays. We are still looking for new members.
