The Sand-Grass Green Championships attracted over 90 players from 21 country clubs and three city clubs spread across the state. The two-day event was played with 18 holes each at Grenfell and Forbes golf courses. This make-up provides a challenge for the players as some have never ventured onto sand greens before. The Team prize went to Grenfell – Denis Smith, Jan Myers, Virginia Drogemuller and Grant Simpson with 201 pts. For those unable to travel to Grenfell, there was an 18-hole Stableford event at Forbes contested by 35 players. The A-Division was won by Rob Webb with 38 points, followed Bob Borger on count back.
The B-Division winner was Peter Tisdell and runner-up was Tom Edols. The ball sweep went to 34 points, while the NTP’s went to: 9th – Paul Pymont; 18th – Peter Dawson.
