Sallaway Is Lachlan Valley Champ

A Forbes contingent at the Lachlan Valley District Championships carried home a winner in Shane Sallaway, who won the A-Grade Scratch Championship and the Moulder Cup, after a play-off. Shane managed to sink a 30 foot birdie putt on the first hole to take the win over Tim Bourke (Parkes), after both had finished on 74 scratch.

Forbes ‘A’ was Runner-up in the A-Grade Pennants, while the Forbes 1 team (M Collits, P Dawson, A Grierson) won the Vets Handicap Pennants. Other Forbes winners were: C McMillan for Junior Scratch Champs and S Grallelis, Runner-up in the C-Grade Handicap.

Saturday’s golf was an Individual Stroke event. The A-Division winner was Josh Coulthurst with a score of nett 67. Runnerup was Brian Everest with 70 nett. The B-Division results were similar with Hamish Steel-Park the winner (68 nett) from George Falvey (70 nett).

The Sunday Stableford Medley winner was Barb Drabsch with 32 points.

Winter 3’s Comp voucher win went to Garry Besgrove (nett 25), The balls went to: G Besgrove, M Sutcliffe, J Cripps, B Drabsch,
E Coombs, S Redfern and A Baker.
