Redfern Takes Long Cycle Champs

October 1, 2021 by Maggi Barnard

Haylee Redfern may not have had the prep she wanted but that didn’t stop the Forbes local producing some amazing results at the 2021 Girevoy Sport Australia Nationals. “It definitely wasn’t what I originally had in mind but the good old shed in Forbes definitely got the job done,” Haylee shared with followers in a Facebook post.

She finished with a Candidate Master of Sport OALC and came away with overall 3rd and a PB of 108 reps. She also finished with a Candidate Master of Sport 30min 12kg Jerk and TBC, one of the first athletes in Australia to try this lift coming away with 392 reps. But she was far from done.

“The highlight for me was coming away with the Australian National Long Cycle Championship,” she said.

“Years of training and patience has gone into my LC training and will continue to do so for when that day comes that I finally get the opportunity to step onto that platform to represent Australia at the World Championships,” Haylee said.

“A big thanks GSAA for another stellar run event and for the continued support of Australian Kettlebell athletes!”
