FIRST PLACE WRITER
Whitney Duffy, a year 8 student of Forbes High School, won first place in the Koori Kids Creative Writing Competition. She received her certificate from Forbes Mayor, Phyllis Miller. Whitney wrote about Aunty Aileen Allen’s life story.
PLACE IN STATE DRAMA ENSEMBLE
Maddison Collits, who is in Year 11 at Forbes High, successfully auditioned for a place in the NSW State Drama Ensemble. The ensemble is for talented year 9 to 11 students and will work with industry professionals during the upcoming school holidays to produce a piece of work that is to be performed at the State Drama Festival in Sydney this October. Only 24 places were up for grabs across the entire state!
