O’Neill On Form At Forbes Golf Course

September 25, 2025 by Short Putt

Jacob Reid starts his day with Nick Morrison pleased with the outcome.

The spring weather has put a spring in the step of the Forbes golfers and encouraged them to play well. There was no advantage to either the early or later starters as the scores showed.

The field of 80 players contested the event, an Individual Stableford sponsored by Roylances Tractor Replacements. Most players hit off early, keen to get home to watch the footy.

The Div-1 Winner was Wayne O’Neill who finished with 40 points. It was a day where his putter was hot. Runner-up was Cooper Byrnes with 38 points. He had a very even game with 3-pointers scattered throughout his game.

The Div-2 Winner was Matt Duff on 39 points. His back-9 was slightly better than his front-9. Runner-up was Jesse Hamilton on 38. There was not much wrong in his game except two wipes.

The Ladies Division was won by Veronica Rebellato. Her 37 points was built on a very strong front-9 that compensated for a lacklustre back-9.

The ball sweep went to 33 points on count back. There were no visitors. The NTP’s went to: 9th Ladies: Wendy Simmons, Men:

Dave Mylecharane; 18th Ladies: Brianna Duncan, Men: Luke Andrews. Only Luke converted for a ‘2’. The 3rd hole Super Pin went to Adrian Cole with a shot to 209cm, but he missed his ‘2’ which converted for a ‘2’.Last weekend the NSW Country Championships were held at Cowra. Our Lachlan Valley players had a promising start but difficult conditions on Saturday brought many undone and the team finished in 8th spot.

We wish them better success next year.

This Saturday, 27 September will be the October Monthly Medal, being an Individual Stroke, sponsored by Forbes Concrete.

Sunday will see the KENO Regional Final with the course closed until the afternoon.
