Now Is The Time To Nominate

September 27, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

With the winter sport season at an end, the Forbes Sportsperson of the Year (SOYA) committee would like to remind all local sporting organisations that there is no time like the present to nominate their sporting champions.

The SOYA committee was formed more than thirty years ago to celebrate and recognise the achievements of our sporting men and women. Not only are our local athletes recognised, the committee pride themselves on recognising everyone who makes sport possible, from the administrators to officials and coaches.

Every sporting club should be proud to nominate someone in every category available which is administrator, coach/trainer, referee/official, all rounder and of course the Junior and Senior Sportsperson.

All nominations are judged by an independent judging panel with winners to be announced at the annual awards presentation dinner to be held in March 2019 at the Forbes Sport and Recreation Club.

Nominations forms can be found on the Forbes SOYA Facebook page or by contacting the organisation secretary, Anita Morrison on 0405 364 512 or email – morrisonaj68@gmail.com.

The awards would not be possible without the generous support of regular sponsors and local businesses. New sponsors are always welcome and their support will be advertised at every available opportunity.

The annual presentation dinner is well supported each year with more than 150 people attending in previous years, teamed with quality guest speakers, providing great value for money.

If you need further information and would like to submit a nomination please contact Anita. Nominations are open until the end of the year but they accept them throughout the year.
