Mural For Murriyang: A new artwork has been unveiled at the Parkes Observatory Visitors Centre: From Country, Through Time. The 10-metre mural by Wiradjuri artist Scott ‘Sauce’ Towney celebrates the enduring connection of Wiradjuri people to Country and the land that Murriyang, our Parkes radio telescope sits on. In Sauce’s words, “Country is always changing, but its spirit, stories and connections continue.”

The Forbes Historical Museum: Exciting things happening for Forbes and Parkes! Monica Wren, our new President of Forbes & District Historical Society, took great pride in showing Bob Tyndall, President of Parkes and District Historical Society around the Forbes Museum this week. Two great organisations supporting each another in preserving our incredible regional history, discussing how we can collaborate, share resources, and work together to celebrate our shared stories.

When we collaborate, our history shines brighter.
