More Upgrades For Forbes Netball

The Forbes Netball Association will be able to upgrade one of their Stephan Field netball courts thanks to a $25,000 State Government grant. Member for Orange Andrew Gee visited Forbes last Friday to officially award the grant to Forbes Netball Association’s Robyn Kenny and Jane O’Malley. The grant comes from the NSW Government’s 2015/16 Local Sport Grant program. “It’s extremely important quality sporting and recreational facilities are available and complemented with well-run programs if we are to encourage people to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle,” Mr Gee said. Mr Gee believes the funding announced today will ensure that opportunities are provided for as many people as possible and allow them to gain the benefits that come from living an active, healthy lifestyle. The Forbes and District Tennis Club and the Forbes Dragon Boat Club were also the beneficiaries of state funding. The tennis club received $1,932 for the purchase and installation of new bench seating, while the dragon boat club was granted $4,000 to purchase a Champion 22 crew dragon boat and boat trolley.
