Monthly Medals Tussles

Last Saturday’s men’s competition was the Monthly Medal, sponsored by McFeeter’s Motor Museum. There was a keen group of 50 players.

The A Grade was a tussle between John Betland, who scored a 68 scratch, nett 70, and Peter Dawson. Peter took the honours on count back with his 70 nett and played the back-9 under par, while John blitzed the front-9 with a 33.

The B Grade saw Robb Webb finish runner-up on nett 69 from Mike Spice who came in late with a nett 68 to take the honours. The C Grade had Denis Culley as winner with nett 69. Runner-up was Geoff Drane.

The ball sweep went to 73 nett, going to: 68 – M Spice; 69 – R Webb/ D Culley; 70 – P Dawson/ J Betland/ A Callaghan; 71 – D Bayley/ G Drane/ D Rhodes; 72 – P Kay and 73 – M Cahill/ J Zannes/ M Haley.

The NTP’s on the 9th and 18th went to John Betland.

Sunday’s Stableford Medley was won by John Betland with 37 points, ahead of his brother Steve with 36 points.

The NTP’s went to: 9th – John Betland; 18th – nobody.

The ladies 9-hole shoot-out was won by Julie Hurkett on the last hole over Barb Drabsch.
