Michael Has Too Much Spice With 67

January 28, 2022 By Maggi Barnard

PICTURE PERFECT: Jeff House stares down a glorious drive last Saturday in the Rob Allen Livestock Individual Stroke event at Forbes Golf Club.

Last Saturday Men’s golf competition was an Individual Stroke event, sponsored by Rob Allen Livestock Transport. A field of 64 players ensured the scores were close with the Div-1 winner Michael Spice who dazzled with a fine 67 nett.

Right behind him was Neil Duncan on 68 nett while Div-2 winner went to Clayton Alley on 68 nett, compiled in tidy fashion. Runner-up was Tom Toohey on 69 nett.

The ball sweep went to 74 nett, on count back – check in the Pro Shop to see if you earned one. The NTP’s went to: 9th – Neil McMillan, 18th – Wayne O’Neill. The 3rd Hole Super Pin went to Frank Donohoe, with a gap of 1-7m between the hole and his ball.

The Sunday Stableford Medley had a competitive field was too small, although the scores were a little astray. Jordan Brett, back after an absence, took the day with 39 points. Runner-up was Harry Callaghan with 36 pts. The NTP’s went to – 9th: Phil Barnard (Parkes), 18th: Harry Callaghan. There was no ball sweep.

This weekend we have a 4BBB Par event, sponsored by Cahill Footwear, with a Stableford Medley on Sunday.

The CWDGA Men’s Pennants commences on Sunday 6th February, with Forbes hosting the first round. Consequently the course will be closed for the morning. Players are reminded to put their names on the team sheet in the Pro Shop if they would like to play. Speak with Steve Betland for more details.

A couple of reminders now. Don’t forget the Junior Coaching classes commencing on Thu 3rd February. Contact Head Pro Adam for details – 6851 1554. And also register your name for the Callaway Fitting day scheduled for Thu 24th February. Times are available from 8:30 am to 1 pm, so get in quick by contacting the Pro Shop.
