Generocity Church Forbes New Building Opening

July 30, 2026 by Roxane Manley

Generocity Church Forbes is finally moving into its own building after three and a half years leasing Northside Chapel for its Sunday Morning Services. Forbes GC has been very grateful to Northside Chapel for accommodating them after their own building was flooded in the devastating Forbes floods in November 2022.

Forbes GC is now very excited to be moving into their own church building, kindly leased by Forbes Council.

On 9 August they will be holding an opening service to celebrate moving into the old St Andrews Church building. Built in 1877, and closed as a church in 2020, Forbes GC are thrilled to once again be using the church as a place to worship God and fellowship together.

Their small volunteer renovations team has spent the last eight months painting, cleaning, and making repairs to ensure the building is a welcoming and safe space for the Forbes community.

All renovations have been completed according to Heritage requirements and with Forbes Shire Council approval.

Forbes GC are inviting all Forbes locals who are interested in seeing the renovations to come along to the opening service and join them to praise God for his provision A special welcome is extended to the past congregation of St Andrews. If you have any memories of the church, they would appreciate hearing your stories, and have already met one local gentleman who has fond memories of getting married in the old church.

All are welcome and invited to the Opening Service of Forbes Generocity Church in its new location, 10am Sunday 9 August.

The building is the old St Andrews Church, Harold Street, Forbes. Activities are available for children in the Kids Church room.

A free lunch will be served after the church service as part of the celebrations.
