Forbes Sheep Sale

Conducted 27/10/2015

Yarded 20957 including 14114 lambs . Quality was mixed as is usual at this time of year when the new lambs are running out and the good quality shorn lambs are very moderately supplied. However, despite the quality prices improved again. Trade weight lambs were $2 better and the heavier grades improved $3 to $4 compared to last week’s sale:

Heavy new season lambs (23kgs+)
$129.00 to $149.00

Trade weight new season lambs (18-22kgs)
$110.00 to $133.00

Heavy “old” Lambs
to $152.00

Lambs 23-26kgs
$123.00 to $145.00

Trade weight old Lambs
$104.00 to $122.00

Store Lambs
$84.00 to $115.00

Trade weight Merino Lambs
$100.00 to $109.00

Hoggets
$82.00 to $96.000

There were 6843 grown sheep yarded and prices improved by $7 to $10 compared to last week’s sale:

Merino Wethers
$74.00 to $111.00

Merino Ewes
$76.00 to $121.00

XB Ewes
$74.00 to $101.00

Light Sheep
$40.00 to $76.00

Merino Rams
$52.00 to. $90.00
