Forbes Croquet News

April 28, 2023 by Pegging Out

We had 35 players for Aussie Croquet on a very pleasant morning on Saturday, 22nd April. There were five players who managed to win three games: John Cole, Lyn Simmonds, Kevin Rubie, Rex Toole and Cheryle Toohey. The big winners on the day were:

• 14 – 7 Neville Spry and Barry White.

• 14 – 9 Sandy Hepburn and Kevin Rubie, John Browne and Ros Rennick.

• 14 – 10 Harley Stewart and Kevin Rubie, John Cole and Bill Scott, Harley Stewart and Neville Spry, Dorelle Scott and Kevin Rubie , Lorraine Todd and Cheryle Toohey.

We now have in excess of 60 members, which we are so proud to say in our small country town. With eight courts, we certainly cater for all.

Our social get together and luncheon is to be held at the Post Office hotel on 2nd May and hopefully everyone who wishes to attend has placed their name and chosen their meal on the sheet provided.

Those celebrating their birthdays during May are John Browne (a special birthday), John Cole, Peter Mahlo, Carmel Murray, Elvy Quirk, Harley Stewart and Peter West.

There was no croquet on Tuesday, 25th April as we honoured our ANZAC’s.

Lest We Forget.
