June 2, 2023 by By Short Putt

Forbes Mayor Phyllis Miller congratulates Forbes Open Winner Caleb Hanrahan.

The Mens golf competition last weekend was busy with the Mens Open on Sunday and the 4BBB on Saturday.

On Sunday the Forbes Mens Open was played with 129 players competing, representing 16 clubs.

The A-Grade Scratch was won by Caleb Hanrahan (Fbs) with a 68 score, ahead of Lee Grierson (Wollongong) on 71 nett. The B-Grade Scratch went to C Flack (WW) on 85 and the C-Grade Scratch went to M Taylor (Condo) on 92.

The Handicap winners were: A-Grade M Keith (Pks) 71 nett on c/b, B Grade C Moore (Fbs) 72 nett on c/b, and C Grade W Nash (Fbs) 67 nett.

Prizes for runners-up, NTP’s, Long Drive and Superpin were distributed primarily to the Trilogy clubs, but M Keith (Pks) and S Honeman (Young) did break the sequence.

The final leg of the ‘Trilogy of Golf’ was played in conjunction with the Open. The prize for the lowest combined Scratch score (Condo/WW/Fbs) went to Caleb Hanrahan with 217, ahead of John Betland on 219. The Handicap was won by Taylor Miller (Condo) with 212, ahead of Andy Harland (WW) on 220.

The 4BBB Stableford played on Saturday was dominated by Forbes players. The

Scratch winners were Dawson/J Betland on 42 pts ahead of Currey/Demidjuk on 40 pts. The Handicap results needed a count back with Dobell/Cutler given the nod ahead of H Nash/C Goodsell after both finished on 47 pts.

This weekend we have the June Monthly Medal, sponsored by BWR Accountants & Advisers, with a quiet Stableford Medley on the Sunday.

Do not forget the farewell for Head Pro Adam on Sat 3 June after the golf.

On Saturday, 10th June we have the ‘Can Assist’ 4-P Ambrose Medley, and the Scramble on Monday 12th June.
