Croquet Results

June 13, 2019 By Maggi Barnard

Week Ending Saturday 8th June 2019

Everyone was well rugged up for Tuesday’s competition in the frost. The numbers were down due to the cold weather. We are glad to welcome two new faces to our club. Sandy Hepburn and Denny Smith on only their second Tuesday, won two games each. A mighty effort considering they have never played before. We had our June birthday lunch at the bowling club after our Tuesday’s game. John MacCullagh, Barry  White, Tony Thomson and Jennifer Job celebrated the day with a large cake. We would also like to congratulate Lorna Field on her 90th birthday, only 10 more years until you get a message from the Queen Lorna.

We pass on our condolences to our popular member Robin Pols on the loss of her sister recently. Our thoughts are with you.

The winners of three games for Golf Croquet were Kevin Rubie, Dorelle Scott, Neville Spry and Lyn Simmonds.

There were only twenty two players for our Saturday games which were played on very damp courts. Thankfully there was no frost and it was a very calm morning with no breeze. Five players won their three games, John Browne, John Cole, Jill Rubie, Barry White and Neville Spry.

Members are advised and reminded that defibrillator training is to be held on Wednesday June 26th at 9:45 am in the Forbes Sport and Recreation club.
