GOLF CROQUET TUESDAY 16TH JULY 2019:

Cold weather is taking a toll on the numbers for the Tuesday games. Some players are at home sick and others are taking a well-deserved holiday. The winners of three games were John Cole, Barry White and Lorraine Todd. It was nice to see Lorraine on the winner’s board again. Barry White and John Cole have been two of our most consistent players over the last three months. The closest games on the day were:
• Mal Smith, Joan Littlejohn 7, def Lyn Simmonds, Bruce Field 6
• Lorraine Todd, John Job 7, def Jill Rubie, Alec Todd 6
• Barry White, Denny Smith 7, def Evelyn Mahlo, Ruth Cheney 6
• Marie Spry, John Cole 7, def Neville Spry, Kevin Rubie 6
• Geoff Coles, Carol Slattery 7, def Kathleen Broderick, Bob Murray 6
• Jill Rubie, John Job 7, def Mal smith, Lyn Simmonds 6
• Joan Littlejohn, John Allegri 7, def Neville Spry, John Job 6
• Bob Murray, John MacCullagh 7, def Joan Littlejohn, Mal Smith 6

AUSSIE CROQUET 20TH JULY 2019

Another white frost to start the day but half way through the second game the jackets were coming off. . Today we welcomed a player travelling through Jim Nichols from Wagga Wagga. He arrived late and could only play one game but that was enough to see that he was a seasoned player. Jim has a long and varied history as a player and teacher of several variations of croquet and was a fount of information. Jim partnered Jill Rubie. They defeated Neville Spry and Cherylin Cole 14-13. There were only two players who won their three matches Mr Consistent Barry White and Lyn Simmonds.
The closest games on the day were:
• John Cole 14 def Elizabeth McLean 11
• Geoff Coles, Harley Stewart 14, def Jill Rubie, Kevin Rubie 13
• Lyn Simmonds 14, def Cherylin Cole 12
• Barry White, Neville Spry 14, def Bob Murray, Lorna field 12
• John Coles, John MacCullagh 14, defeated Anne Stewart 12.
