Croquet News

November 22, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

It was good to see some of our former players back on the courts for our Tuesday’s golf croquet. Welcome back Mal Smith and Doreen Whitworth! They have not lost their touch. They each won three games after a long absence from the sport. It was a great effort to come back and carry on where they left off. Other winners of three games were John Browne, John Job, Kevin Rubie and Bill Scott.

Two of the closest games were between Lorna Field and Merv Langfield with 7, who defeated Ruth Cheney and John Allegri with 6. The other close game was between Doreen Whitworth and Mary Hodges with 7, who defeated Colleen Liebich and Evelyn Mahlo with 6.

Members were notified that Saturday’s game had been cancelled due to top dressing of the courts. A further bulletin advises that all games have been cancelled until further notice but we will hopefully be back on the courts before the Christmas break.

Enjoy the break and introduce yourself to some other activities, like… Christmas shopping!
