Croquet News

April 19, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

On Tuesday 3rd April we held our monthly Birthday Lunch at the Garden Chinese Restaurant with 34 in attendance. Veva MacCullagh, Doreen Rogers and Ken Styles were celebrating their birthdays. Congratulations were in order.

On Tuesday 10th April we held a Social Day at the Croquet Club to celebrate Seniors Festival for 2018 and we had a lovely social day with approximately fifty in attendance. We played social games of croquet and enjoyed a delicious morning tea which was provided by many of our members.

A special thanks to the Recreational Officers at the Jemalong Residential Village for bringing some of the residents down to participate and share morning tea.

Croquet is great for the body, mind and soul and should you be interested in playing our regular days are Tuesday and Saturday of each week. Arrival at the courts by 8.45am is essential so that numbers can be distributed with play to commence at 9am.

Just sensible soft sole shoes are all that is needed. We have mallets available for all visitors to use.

On Saturday 14th April we had a wonderful roll up of players including four out of town visitors. Des and Laurel Wykes from Yeoval together with Ken and Lindsay Bradley from Sydney who were visiting relatives in town.

Congratulations to the following people who won all three games namely Lorna Field, Jeff Liebich, Elizabeth McLean, Kevin Rubie, Bill and Dorelle Scott and one of our visitors Laurel Wykes.
