Croquet Continues

January 31, 2020 by Maggi Barnard

On a warm sunny Tuesday last week, 34 players graced the Forbes croquet fields. The croquet fields are once again looking good after those few showers of late. Forbes Croquet Club welcomed Campbell Rubie on Tuesday last week. Campbell is an accomplished player and he defeated his Grandfather Kevin who was not at all impressed. It was pleasing to see so many close games on Tuesday. The winners of three games were Mal Smith and Tony Thomson.

Last Saturday saw only a small number in attendance as one of the club’s players Evelyn Mahlo was celebrating a big number which took so many players away. The winners of three games on Saturday were John Cole, Merv Langfield, Veva MacCullagh and Army White.

The Forbes Croquet Club decided to have a float in the Australia Day parade and there were many members who made themselves available. The club members wish to say a big thank you to Greg Whitworth who willingly made the signs for the float. Many Thanks Greg. Also, a thank you to Bill and Dorelle who made their vehicle and trailer available on the day.
