Golf Croquet

After a three-week break, Croquet players were thrilled to get back into the game. There were 34 keen players who kicked off the season of Golf Croquet on Tuesday, 12 January. The winners of three games were John Browne, Ray Burridge, Geoff Coles, John Cole, Bruce Field and John MacCullagh. Big wins were: 11-2 Evelyn Mahlo and John Cole. 9-4 Evelyn Mahlo and Dorelle Scott; Bill Scott, Harley Stewart and Geoff Coles; Dorelle Scott and Bob Murray; Barry White and John MacCullagh; Lorraine Todd and Bruce Field. Close games were:

•  Barry White and Marie Spry 7, Joan Littlejohn and Libby Smart 6.

• Kevin Rubie and John Browne 7, John Allegri and Alex Todd 6.

• Judy Ellis and Bruce Field 7, Robin Poles and Elvy Quirk 6.

• John Browne 7, Barry White 6.

• Tony Thomson and Geoff Coles 7, Merv Langfield and John Robb 6.

Aussie Croquet

Twenty-six players joined Aussie Croquet on a very chilly Saturday morning, 16 January. The winners of three games were John Browne, Ray Burridge, John Cole, Joan Littlejohn, Doreen Rogers, Kevin Rubie, Neville Spry and Barry White. Big wins were: 14-8 John Cole and Joan Littlejohn, Kevin Rubie and John Cole. 14-9 John Allegri and Lyn Simmonds, John Browne and John Fa- rah. Close games:

• Neville Spry 14, Judy Ellis and John Job 13.

• Barry White and Marie Spry 14, Merv Langfield and Elvy Quirk 13.

• John Cole and Libby Smart 14, John MacCullagh 13.

• Cheryle Toohey and Barry White 14, Geoff Coles and Colleen Liebich 13.

• Colleen Liebich and Jeff Liebich 14, Lor- raine Todd and Bill Scott 12.

• Geoff Coles and Joan Littlejohn 14, Rob- in Poles and Tony Thomson 12.
