September 4, 2025 by Roxane Manley

Parkes Christian School Year 9/10 Commerce class ran their annual Market Day in which they have to come up with a food truck style business, market it and run it during lunch time.

They did a wonderful job and fed the masses, who enjoyed loaded fries, cinnamon and pizza scrolls, nachos, and ice cream!

Well done Miss Oates and all of the students who were involved in the success of the annual Market Day

Be Seen @ Parkes Little Athletics

August 14, 2025 by Roxane Manley

Parkes Little Athletics Club was supported through the Parkes Shire Council Evolution Mining Northparkes Sports Grant. The funding they received helped the organisation upgrade their high jump mats.

The new high jump mats are safer and usable by the older age groups part of Little A’s. How fun do these new high jump mats look?! Even the adults are keen to test them out.

Be sure to get your sports grant applications submitted before they close on 30 September! www.parkes.nsw.

Some of our Year 9 and10 students attended a NSW Mining Virtual Reality session recently run by NSW Mining Representative Sharon Bushby.

Our students had the chance to hear about the mining industry, explore and do a research task about minerals that are mined in Australia.

The highlight of the session was when students had the chance to put on the VR headsets to explore different jobs in mining.
