Birthday girl Kath was featured in the Daily Telegraph about 6 weeks ago because she has read the Telegraph every day from age 15. The Reading Bug is also pictured alongside Kath reading The Forbes & Parkes Phoenix.

A beautiful morning tea was held on Tuesday 4th June in Parkes and was attended by many of Kath’s friends, family and neighbours.

Kath who is now 100 years young still keeps up with the stock market, knows all the current NRL players and is always keeping up to date on all the local goings on.

Be Seen @ Big W 20year Luncheon

Celebrating 20 years with the Parkes Big W store is Micky Roffe and Lyn Kennedy who are still with the store since its opening.

 

Those who were celebrating various anniversaries with the store were invited to enjoy a special luncheon.

 

There is also a 20 year get together being planned for past and present staff. Partners may attend but no children.

National Families Week is a chance to celebrate the vital role families play in Australian society.

Parkes High School Year 10 boys are participating in a five week TAFE course introducing them to construction. The students will attend Parkes TAFE for four weeks then go on an industry tour visiting local builders. Thank you to Senior Project Officer and Regional Industry Education Partnerships co-ordinator, Mr Troy Kelly, to Mrs Morrissey, PHS Transition Adviser for helping to organise the course and Mr Carter who accompanies the students each week.
