Be Seen @ AORC With Dylan Mcdonald

September 19, 2024 by Roxane Manley

15yr old Parkes boy Dylan Mcdonald finished 3rd on the podium at the final Round of the Australian Off Road Championships on this weekend at Nowra.

A few mechanical set backs at the previous round cost Dylan the points lead. Even after being hospitalised due to a training accident, he came out and raced, taking 3rd and 2nd overall on each day.

Not quite the end result that Dylan worked for this year but he will continue to put in the work and to be ready to race in America in a few months time.

Be Seen @ Parkes High Reunion Class Of 1969-1974

September 12, 2024 by Roxane Manley

Old classmates enjoyed reconnecting over the weekend of 6, 7 and 8 September, some not having seen each other since school days, while others had attended past class reunions.

There was a meet and greet at Cambridge on Friday night, lunch at the Coachman on Saturday and dinner at the Hong Loch on Saturday night. We laughed as we shared old school memories, and listened with interest to each other’s stories of where their life had led them.

Some of us had been at school together from Kindergarten onwards. But no matter how long our years together were, there was a sense of gratitude for those years spent together as we were growing up and that had played a part in our formation as adults.

The event ended with coffee in Cooke Park on Sunday morning for those who were still in town. Others, had made an early start to return home; home being as far away as Queensland, Broken Hill, different parts of Sydney, up Newcastle way, and down Wollongong way, Canberra and Orange, and anywhere in between.

Dirt bike riding prodigy Mason Wild has taken 2nd place at Australian titles held at Forbes Auto Sports club a fortnight ago.

His tactical final gate selection of gate 7 gave him the opportunity to push hard into the first corner coming out of the first lap in a comfortable 3rd position.

The 6 lap final gave Mason time to ride a clean smart race, slipping into second position right after the last lap board was released and finishing the meeting second in Australia.
