The BWR Accountants & Advisors sponsored Monthly Medal was played on Saturday and was contested by a field of 54 who generally returned average scores across the board.
Peter Dawson won the A-Grade Medal with a 72 nett, taking the Medal on count back from visitor Andrew Brownlow (Peak Hill). The B-Grade was won by Garry Collits with a 71 nett, the best round of the day.
Runner-up was Bob Borger with 72 nett and on count back from a bevy of players. The C-Grader winner was Bede Tooth 72 nett ahead of runner-up Robert Scott with 73.
The ball sweep went to 75 nett on count back: 71 – G Collits; 72 – R Borger, P Dawson, A Brownlow, B Everest, S Kirkman, B Tooth, P Barnes; 73 – R Scott; 74 – N Mc- Millan, B Doyle, S Sallaway, P Maher; 75 – G Falvey.
The NTP’s went to: 9th – R Nixon; 18th – C Barrett. The visitors included Andrew Brownlow (Peak Hill) and Scott Mackenzie (Parkes).
The Sunday Stableford Medley field was affected by a number of other events happening on the day. The winner was Kerry Stirling (31 points) on count back. There was no Runner-up or ball sweep. Bess Shields got the NTP on the 9th, while the 18th remained vacant.
On Sunday Forbes hosted a round of the JNJG ‘Juniors on the Move’ series of events. Over 30 Juniors participated, playing a modified 9-hole course, and attending from Dubbo, Orange, Bathurst, Parkes, Cowra and Forbes. Golf Pro Adrian Lees was the prime organiser at Forbes and well pleased with the turn out.
The Can-Assist Charity Day will be held this Sat 8 June. This is a 4-person Ambrose event, with all proceeds going to the Forbes Can-Assist Branch. The nomination fee includes a lunch and prizes. So make an effort, and participate in this event.
The Lachlan Valley Pennants and Championships, is being held at West Wyalong on Sunday 16 June. This is the premier event for Lachlan Valley District golf. We need a good representation from the Club so get your name on the list in the Pro Shop.
Play has commenced in the Wallace Cup, with some 1st and 2nd round matches played or scheduled. Dave Rhodes was unlucky to lose against Stevie G, finishing 1-down. Their match was a tight contest all the way, with little mistakes being the main difference in scoring.
Results for week three of the Winter 3’s competition are: The Voucher winner was Stevie G (nett 32.5). The balls went to: S Grallelis, A Watts, B Gear, Som, T Rousell, G Haley and B Besgrove. Ash Tucker’s team have a handy lead on the field, but it is early days yet so there is plenty of opportunity for other teams to catch up.
