Another Croquet Win For Coles

March 28, 2019 by Maggi Barnard

Week ending 23rd March

It was another good turnout for our Tuesday golf croquet and we welcomed to our courts Regina McMaster visiting from Ballina.

Regina partnered Ray Burridge to victory defeating John MacCullagh and Libby Smart 9-4.

Geoff Coles never fails to amaze. He has been a winner of three matches a week, won over a three week period. To my knowledge this is the first time this has been achieved.

John Allegri was the only other winner of three matches for the Tuesday game. You’re slipping Forbes croquet players!

Saturday’s Aussie croquet was played on newly mown courts. There were some close games and Anne Stewart had her first win playing two balls against Lorraine Todd and her partner Cherylin Cole. Anne won the game 14-13 in very close finish. Well done Anne!

Elvy Quirk won three games after playing well in all of her matches. Bob Murray is back on track with some good wins in previous weeks and showing he is still a winner this week with three wins. The only other winner of three games was old faithful, Kevin Rubie. Kevin is one of the most consistent players in the club.
