Last Saturday the Forbes golfers played a 4BBB Stableford Medley event, contesting for the Bob and Diane Doolin Memorial Trophy. The field comprised 65 men.
The winners were the pairing of Sharon Grierson and Wendy Simmons. They contributed equally to score 48 points, with only one hole where they scored a lonely point. Runners-up were Ted Morgan and Matt Duff with 46 points. While Ted did most of the work, Matt did chime in with a couple of 4-pointers, they were hurt by too many 1-pointers.
The NTP’s went to: 9th Men: N Ryan, Ladies: J Cripps; 18th Men: H Callaghan, Ladies V Lane. The Pro Shop Super-pin went to Adam Hall with a shot to 1.66. The ball sweep went to 43, so check in the Pro Shop.
Visitors included Adam and Jarod Hall (Trundle GC), who found the grass greens difficult in comparison to their sand greens, and Digit McAuliffe (Nelson Bay) who was back for another short visit.
On Sunday, the first of the new format 9-Hole Stableford Medley comps was held. The weather turned many players away but Jake LeBrocque did play and managed 18 points, for no reward.
A good number of Forbes players competed in the Temora Open on Sunday, which was preceded by a 4BBB on Saturday. It was fine weather both days, albeit a little chilly.
John Betland and Peter Dawson won the 4BBB event The Sunday Open was won by a player from Leeton with 71. Steve Betland was Runner-up with a 73, and on count back from John Betland and Shane Sallaway.
