Croquet News

September 13, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Croquet week ending 8th September

Tuesday’s golf croquet saw three players winning their three games. The pick of the bunch was one of our newest players, Neville Spry who has only been playing for a short period of time. Other winners were Elvy Quirk and Lyn Simmonds. Well done girls!

Our monthly birthday lunch was held at The Bakery in Templar Street, which catered well for such a large group. The birthday babies for September were Lorraine Todd, Merv Langfield, Kevin Rubie and John Brown.

Good news from our two hospital patients is that they are improving. One of them hopes to be home on Friday, 7th September and the other on Saturday, 8th September.

The Forbes Show did not deter the faithful who still turned up for Saturday’s Aussie croquet. Although there were some very quick departures from the courts as many left for all the fun of the fair.

The winners of Saturday’s games were John Cole, Dorothea Croker, Bruce and Lorna Field, Bob Murray and Alec Todd who all won three games each.

Congratulations to those who won ribbons for their contributions to the Show.

By Harley Stewart.
