Croquet News

June 28, 2018 by Maggi Barnard

Week ending 19th June

It’s surprising how many stalwarts turn out for their game of croquet in the early mornings. We’ve been catering for up to 32 players each Tuesday and Saturday and everyone is having a lot of fun as well as getting in some gentle exercise. We love new comers to come along for a taste of the game or even just to watch. The winners of three games on Tuesday were John Cole, Bruce Field, Merv Langfield and Colleen Liebich.

Welcome back to Evelyn Mahlo returning from a trip with her husband to Canada.

Aussie Croquet Saturday, 23rd June

A hearty welcome to Betty Berry and Sally Hurkett who joined our group on the first really frosty morning. Sally Hurkett won two games. She partnered with Veva MacCullagh in her first game and Veva again, had a win. Well done! There were only two players who won three games. They were Bruce Field and Robin Pols. Congratulations to you both.

A big mention for our upcoming July birthdays, which will be celebrated on 3rd July at the Vandenberg.
