Did you know that the Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea has been holding their markets for 20 years? They hold eight markets a year on the second Saturday of the month at Lions Park between 8am – 12:30pm, and there is a market being held this Saturday 10 October.
Visitors will find arts and crafts, seasonal fruit and vegetables, plants, books, jewellery, brick brac, jams and pickles, chickens and other poultry. Rotary run a fruit and vegetable raffle which is always popular, and winners will certainly appreciate the help to the family budget.
So head to Lions Park this Saturday and enjoy the coffee, Rotary breakfast and a variety of local stalls showcasing local fare.
You may even pick up some great ideas for Christmas presents. New stall holders are always welcome, please contact 0427 201 445.
Rotary also encourage you to save the following dates in your calendar. The last Rotary Market for 2026 will be held on 14 November and the club is hoping to join the garage sale trail which Council is organising on that date.
The 14th annual Christmas Tree Festival – always a big weekend – will be held on the first weekend of December at Forbes Town Hall. This is one of Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea’s largest fundraisers for the year and a festive event not to be missed.
Rotary Ipomoea members enjoy providing experiences for the Forbes community including monthly Rotary Markets, annual Christmas Tree Festival, bi-annual Vintage and Collectables Fair and the bi-annual Photography Competition.
They support the community at the Carols, Forbes Eisteddfod, Forbes Show, Australia Day and by hosting concerts, guest speakers and monthly club breakfast meetings.
New members and suggestions are always welcome and the club is always looking for new ways to help the Forbes community. Rotary Club of Forbes Ipomoea meets on the first Tuesday morning of the month at 7am. For more information contact Therese 0423 274 735.
