Just a short drive to…Grenfell

April 14, 2016 by Maggi Barnard

Grenfell is a small town in The Weddin Shire, located 45 minutes from Forbes on the Henry Lawson Way. There is so much happening in Grenfell, head across for a visit this weekend to try one of the new cafes or for a spot of shopping in any of the specialty gift shops. There is more than you think in Grenfell, it’s definitely worth a drive with many shops now open seven days.

Visit www.grenfell.org.au. The Grenfell Art Gallery have an upcoming exhibition ‘Twofold’ by Jane Patterson and Marjo Carter which will be in the Grenfell Art Gallery from 19th April until 28th May. The gallery is open Tuesday to Friday 10am to 4pm and 9.30-noon on Saturdays. The exhibition will feature landscapes and ceramics.

A favourite for the ladies is stopping in to have a shop and Louisa’s Locker at 100 Main Street is a must with beautiful new winter stock arriving daily. Get in quick to snatch up the gorgeous new clothing to get your wardrobe ready for winter, Jan and her team are happy to help. With brands by Gordon Smith, Yarra Trail, Goodiwindi, Jendi, Marco Polo and much more, give them a Like them on Facebook.

Grenfell Furniture has been operating from 66 Main Street since July 2015. This is the one stop furniture shop with plenty of great products in store at fantastic prices. Grenfell Furniture also stock a range of whitegoods and small electrical appliances. For the entertainer, BBQ’s and all outdoor furniture can be found here to make your outdoor patio look amazing for that next party.

Raffia & Co opened its doors in October 2015 and is the perfect place to shop for the best quality and affordable giftware, accessories, homewares, handbags, clothing, millinery and artwork. The store is owned by award winning milliner, Lisa Schaefer. Her award winning headpiece is on display instore along with the handmade dress that made national headlines last November when local woman, Emily Hunter won the ‘Fashions on the Field’ title at Melbourne Cup and went on to win the ‘National FOTF’ 2015 competition on Crown Oaks Day, wearing both pieces.

Give mum a gift she will love this Mother’s Day from Raffia & Co, you will find the perfect gift on display with so much to choose from! A gift voucher is also great for those hard to buy for Mum’s. Opening hours are Wednesday 10am to 3pm, Thursday and Friday 10am to 5pm, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 2pm with group openings available by arrangement. Enquiries are very welcome by calling Lisa on 0488 047 376 or emailing lisa@lsmillinery.com.au and you can also keep up to date via Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest.
