Lions Club Donation: Mr Ian Gilchrist from the Forbes and District Lions Club presented a big cheque for $500 to help with the cost of a new lap top trolley at Forbes North Public School recently. The student Parliamentarians accepted the cheque on behalf of the Forbes North Public School P&C.
New Tip Opening Times: Next month Bedgerabong and Garema Landfill’s will have new opening times. Bedgerabong Landfill will be open Wednesdays from 1:30pm to 4:30pm and Sundays 9am to 12noon. Garema Landfill will be open Wednesdays 8am to 11am and Sundays 1:30pm to 4:30pm. These new times will take effect on 2 October 2019.
Footy Tipping Winner: Well done to the team at MD Steel for winning the NRL Footy Tipping competition for 2019 on 121 points. JD’s Glass and Glazing came a close second on 120 points and Forbes Physiotherapy came third with 115 points. Water Restrictions: A reminder to everyone of the current water restrictions in place as the temperatures start to rise. Forbes Shire currently sits on Level 1 restrictions. Watering of lawns is permitted between the hours of 6pm – 10am daily by watering systems, micro sprayers, drip systems, soaker hoses, non-fixed sprinklers and hand held hoses only. Watering of Residential Gardens between the hours of 6pm – 10am daily by watering systems, micro sprayers, drip systems, soaker hoses, non-fixed sprinklers and hand held hoses only. Irrigation of new turf permitted for one week after laying during the above times. Washing down walls or paved surfaces not permitted. Topping up private swimming pools permitted. First fill of private swimming pools permitted. Washing cars at home permitted with a bucket and rinse with a trigger hose on lawn at any time of the day.
