Yarded 30884 including 25336 lambs, 10000 less than last week. There were approximately 14000 new season lambs included And the balance of the offering comprised merino and “old” crossbred lambs. As usually happens at this time of year more of the young lambs are showing signs of going woolly. There were fresher better quality lines penned and competition for these was strong. Most prime quality lambs , both young and “old” sold $3 to $4 dearer compared to last week’s sale. Merino lambs were also similarly dearer.

There were 5548 grown sheep yarded and prices for crossbred heavy ewes and also light sheep held firm. Merino ewes and wethers eased compared to last week’s sale.
